About Old Timer Log & Supply

Old Timer was started in 1978 by Paul Gentry. In its humble beginnings, Old Timer operated from the basement of Gentry’s parents’ home in Mount Juliet, Tennessee. The first log was pushed through the small one-man mill, also located on his parents’ property, near midnight December 31, 1978. At this time, Gentry’s focus was on manufacturing and building homes locally.

For several years Old Timer produced two styles of logs. In 1984 it was evident that log home buyers wanted a larger selection. Since then Old Timer has introduced a variety of log styles. Today, Old Timer manufactures over thirty different styles of kiln dried logs and has grown from an operation of one to employing more than twenty people. Our trained and certified mill workers mill each log with the care and craftsmanship our customers expect. With five fully automated mills in operation, some designed by Gentry himself, our flexibility in manufacturing makes Old Timer one of, if not the most diversified manufacturers in the industry.
